This couple wanted a very short and quick ceremony, so that’s what we did. Everything was simple, including no wedding party. Small and simple can be nice.
I have a history with the Bridge Building. My dad was a welder and worked at the Nashville Bridge Company long ago. I remember him taking me to work one day, and walking up the narrow concrete stairway at the Bridge Builing (they now have it closed off for safety reasons). At the time was the “command center” for directing the barges on the river. They let me toot the horn for the barges. Of course, way back then, never could I have guessed I would be officiated weddings in that building.
